Therefore, no matter where you are planting onions, you need to be sure that they are protected and will continue to be protected as they grow. So, use a rabbit fence or other fencing to keep animals out, and choose a good pesticide that won’t harm you or your onions so that the insects don’t get them.

Also, keep the area where you are planting onions free of weeds and other things. This is very important so that you can be sure your onions are given the best chance to survive.

Your onions should start to grow as soon as they are planted. Pay close attention to the directions again, and be sure that you have been harvesting them on a good schedule. If you pull some out and they are not big enough, wait to harvest the rest for a few days. Do not let them freeze, however!
